HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DEDICATION!
In the late 1950's on a carribean island southeast of Florida, known as the Dominican Republic. A very charasmatic young man's desire for change in social culture and the welfare of his community ran deep in his veins. The dictatorship political structure was well in place then by Generalissimo Rafael Trujillo, mass murderer, torturer par excellence and absolute dictator. Being raised in a poverty strucken neighborhood only meant that becoming a shoe shine boy to make ends meet was a must, and only to recieve an education equivalent up to the 8th grade.
Over some short years later, he developed a passion for literature, music & agriculture but didn't have the means to persue any of those desire's, in the end, he went to work at a bakery shop with his closest cousin in a town called Constanza. On April 24th 1965 a bloody civil war occured throughout the country when a repressive dictatorship began to manifest itself noticeably, after four years later of the assasination of Rafael Trujillo.
This young man became part of the massive force of constitutionalists who forced & outwitted the dominican military and police to collapse. This revolt lead this young man to fronline an intense firefight battle forcing military soldiers out of their bases, conering tanks over bridges using molotov cocktails while cleverly utilizing their street smarts of their surroundings. Apart from being shot at numerous times while never getting hit, he was arrested 16 times and also survived a hanging.
By 1969, he made arrangements to arrive in the United States and meet up with his wife in the Bronx, and started a family in hopes for their children to obtain a better life than their own. Even though he was thousands of miles from his country his political involvement still carried over, having private meetings from time to time with comrades and other like minded folks.
Thirty eight years later of becoming a well established father of three sons, a good husband, a hard worker and a United States citizen. He and his wife finally retires and returns back to their native country, the Dominican Republic. Within two years of returning, he was commended with a city plaque at an inauguration for responsibly rebuilding a local basketball playground in his town, gaining the trust and support of the city major of La Vega. Today he's been appointed president of his community and president of the organizations to collaberate with other federalized organizations to continue and improve communities.
