The Truth + Hip Hop =
The Sargonites!

The voices of the city street life were being heard through the eyes of talented individuals, with rhythmic poetic improvisations over self made beat patterns in the early 70’s. Key people of the music industry took notice of this new sound, and decided to capitalize on it by forming independent recording labels to produce records for the masses. In 1978 a highly influential group was formed, composed of a DJ & five rappers, Grand master Flash & the furious five. They rose to fame in the early 80’s with their first successful single "Freedom" and later on with their most popular hit “The Message," which is often cited as among the best hip hop songs ever produced. In the early 90’s conscious emcee's, songs and positive content all quickly began to fade and were replaced with gun toting lyrics and accepted drug abuse, as Hip Hop was on the rise. Even though several artists attempted to deliver intelligent and content driven songs at the time, it wasn’t enough to prevail. Violence became the inspiration to create songs and eventually dominated the air waves to a point where radio stations were born, using the theme of hip-hop to gain global acceptance. Mainstream media then transformed Hip Hop to a coined phrase still used today as “Rap”, due to its quickened world wide popularity. Nowadays, unfortunately Hip-Hop evolved extremely into its total opposite from where it originated. It manifested into a fully blown slave, a materialistic erotic Hip-Pop star and under complete control of fat white haired executive moguls, lounging on top of city skyscrapers. These corporate kings are the only one's laughing all the way to the bank, benefiting from Hip-Hop being seriously pimped.

The rise & fall of hip-hop did not sit well with a few, particularly with a duo group called The Sargonites. Outcome & Morbius (members of the group) grew up in the Bronx with a passion for making music & attempting to make a breakthrough in the industry since their early teen years. These blood related Latino brother's displayed a stronger edge over most groups & artists, expressing songs through chopped up melodramatic violins & horns, heavy rhythmic bass lines, 808 drops creating solid boom bap beats. Their lyrics over their self made production demanded attention due to their intense energetic delivery, passion & incredible timing on stage. They possess a gift of word placement with poetic flow, enabling a rhythmic painting to form a perfect picture in your mind. Member of the group “Outcome”, apart from his musical standpoint of being a lyricist, idealist & revolutionist, he dedicates himself to the “behind the scenes” aspect of the industry .Outcome holds great pride delegating the groups administrative works such as being the chief editor and writer for the duo's website, as well as keeping track of music publishing's, site management, marketing, public relations and musical legalities. While“Morbius” the other dedicated member is a lyricist, producer & an alpha revolutionist. Also contributes “behind the scenes” by establishing headlining shows, heavy online strategic marketing, international and domestic networking, musical production & song/album arrangements. But, Morbius is mostly well recognized for his driving force when it comes down to his ever evolving talents, extending it into video production. Aside from being a sought after director, he perfected the skills of video editing, interior and exterior filming, light editing and even suggestive scripted storylines.

These two extremely talented emcees took a major change of direction during the turn of the century from a musical point of view. The Sargonites, a name they chose for themselves to represent their fiery souls that descend from great kings & mighty rulers of Mesopotamia. They decided to wage an all out war against political figures, corporate moguls and global elitist due to powerful changes of American sovereignty. They express their views in their most noted song “Children of the matrix”, which describes the day to day battle between the forces of good versus evil on a mental, physical & on a spiritual. “Global Announcement” is straight up alarming turntablism hip hop battle cry! A high powered song of our government leaders forming a new world order; continuing to have our rights become stripped away on a global scale. Life in this modern day world is deeply influenced by the media, politics & valuable suppressed information to progress the human evolution. The need to “Build & Destroy” as described in their song title, is what could make those changes for the better. Now, what’s a Hip-Hop song without strong boasting lyrics and a hard beat to back it! In “Forgotten Cyphers” that’s exactly what this head knocking track does, leaving you wanting more of that real hip-hop.

So, who are The Sargonites? You might ask. They are the unique voices of the city street life turned global revolutionists, being heard through the ears of awakened listeners worldwide. What inspires The Sargonites to do what they do, and say what they? I’ll tell you what it’s not; it’s no longer looking forth that major mainstream break, nor is it to be around famous celebrities in private societies. The Sargonites feel it’s important for people to use their platform to convey positive messages as frequent & whenever possible. This time around they chose to become more politically involved even off stage, because when the truth is given in its truest form, being raw & uncut! Only one of two things happen by allowing it to affect you– either it can brutally hurt you and bring you down, or it can inspire you and provide hope. The Sargonites, like our 1978 pioneers make songs to inform and guide the masses, in hope for people to realize that we can still salvage our “Freedom” through “The Message”.
